5 SIMPLE PRACTICES TO INCREASE YOUR FOCUS & PRODUCTIVITY IN YOUR BUSINESS & LIFE

Have you heard the famous “Dejavu all over again” phrase? It means that we keep repeating the same situations, circumstances, and very often attract similar people and results without even realizing it.

Many women suffer with NFROG in their business (No Financial Results Or Growth) because their life and business are a reflection of their daily habits and thoughts.

I often hear:

  • I have struggled with making money in my business for years
  • I feel drained and exhausted, I have no balance in my  life… it’s all just work
  • I feel stressed out, frustrated, and overwhelmed, there is so much to do!
  • I have no support in my business…

In my 30 years of business experience and over a decade as a mentor helping women create the business and life of their dreams, I discovered that there are 5 steps that you need to take to start creating your new reality:

  1. UNAPOLOGETICALLY STATE WHAT IT IS THAT YOU REALLY WANT
  2. RECOGNIZE WHAT WAS HOLDING YOU BACK IN THE PAST
  3. START SEEING THINGS DIFFERENTLY
  4. START EMPLOYING  IMPACTFUL DAILY PRACTICES
  5. CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND BUSINESS TO MATCH YOUR NEW LEVEL OF CLARITY

Big changes can feel overwhelming and scary. The key is implementing daily practices that are simple, manageable, and pleasurable.

TODAY, I’M SHARING WITH YOU 5 SIMPLE PRACTICES TO INCREASE YOUR FOCUS & PRODUCTIVITY IN YOUR BUSINESS & LIFE.

1. THE FIRST STEP: THE DECISION

There is truth in saying, UNTIL YOU MAKE A DECISION TO CHANGE, NOTHING WILL CHANGE. This also applies to productivity and focus. It is easy to get lost in daily to do lists and minutiae.

In business creating the change requires making a decision to prioritize the money making activities that  grow your business and increase your revenue.

Not making a decision is a decision. You can pretend that nothing happens and keep drifting along.

The how-to’s, that many women are concerned about, come naturally. The new solutions, people, and circumstances start showing up to match your decision.

You need to keep in mind that a decision is not a one time event that is quickly forgotten when your schedule gets too busy. It needs to be a commitment to be kept alive and prioritized.

The way my clients stay committed to being productive and focused is by daily practices of repeating, rewriting, and reaffirming our decision.

2. FINDING MEANING AND PURPOSE: THE WHY

Have you ever worked on a project that you were totally inspired by, something that had a true meaning to you? Time stops. You can work for hours and still feel excited and energized.

The opposite is true, too. If you work on a boring project that has no value to you, hours will stretch and you feel exhausted and drained.

In working with women all around the world I see that helping my clients find their WHY can help transform their life and business in a matter of days.

It is easy to get focus, productivity, and energy back when you connect with the true meaning and purpose that you had when you started your business.

To help you with finding your WHY I invite you to make 2 fun lists:

  1. How would your life change if your business revenue doubled?
  2. What would you buy, invest in, and allow yourself to experience?

Have fun with writing what you really want, be true to yourself and don’t hold back.

Most importantly, see the full value of your work and how you contribute to transform your clients’ lives. If you need confirmation read your testimonials. They will show how others see the change that you create.

3. THE MORNING ENERGY

Have you ever woken up, immediately looked at your phone and saw several missed calls and text messages. Your heart is racing, your mind flooded with thoughts of panic and worry. By the time you find out that there was nothing urgent your body is already flooded with adrenaline and the whole day just keeps attracting similar situations.

I strongly believe that the energy of your morning determines how your day unfolds.

In my personal life and coaching hundreds of women all over the world shows me that changing the morning rituals can increase productivity and focus literally overnight.

All you need is 10-15 minutes!

I suggest that you follow these 3 simple steps;

  • Write your intention for the day that is related to increasing productivity and focus
  • Review your calendar and think about an objective for each of your appointments
  • Say an affirmation that reminds you of your commitment to stay productive and focused. For example; “I’m productive and focus on all I do. Staying productive is getting easier and easier.”

I know that 15 minutes might seem like a lot but this time can replace hours of mindless work and going with the flow of circumstances taking over your day.

4. MANAGE YOUR ENERGY TO MANAGE YOUR TIME

Most women multitask! We are used to taking care of our family, shopping, cooking while running a business.

But multitasking actually undermines productivity and focus and it is known as THE SWITCHING TIME PHENOMENON.

Quick shifts of our attention to address a call, text or email, increases our time to finish the primary task by 25% and more according to the Harvard Business Review.

Studies show that it is much more efficient to fully focus on one task for an extended period of time, take a break, and then start a new one.

The best ways to protect ourselves from the daily interruptions are; using a project management platform to work with your team to avoid back and forth communication, turning off the phone when you work on a project, refraining from checking in social media, and clear communication with your team and your family members about your work schedule.

5. MEDITATION FOR BUSINESS SUCCESS

The part of our brain that is in charge of decision making, stress, fear response, and our ability to learn new things is the part that is also related to our focus.

We activate when we meditate.

There are countless studies that prove that meditation decreases depression and stress and improves clarity and focus.

Ending the day with a meditation is one of the best ways to set the tone for the following day. Sleep is similar to the state of meditation. By meditating before going to bed you increase the impact of your meditation.

I always suggest to my clients to start with guided meditations as they are easier to focus on for the beginners before moving into sound and the ultimate silence mediations. My favorite guided meditations are: three meditations by Esther Hicks’; Money, Health, and relationships or Joe Dispenza’s “Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself.”

I know it takes courage and character to make changes in your life but focus and concentration are essential to our business, spiritual, and personal growth.

Change requires commitment.

“The world we live in is a result of our thinking. It can only be changed when we change our thinking.”
